Parenting in this modern age is not a small responsibility. It requires wisdom, patience, love, and divine guidance. The Lord has revealed three foundational principles that will not only help you overcome stress as a parent but also raise strong, grounded, and righteous children.
Point 1: Never Abandon Your Children — Stay Present in Their Lives
Always communicate with your children. Speak with them, listen to them, and guide them. Never abandon them to choose any path they desire without direction.
Be intentional about the relationships they keep. Do not allow them to walk closely with bad company. Monitor their friendships with wisdom and love, not control but careful guidance.
Remember this: God never abandoned Jesus Christ, even at the point of death. In the same way, your love for your children must remain constant — even in their hardest seasons. Even if they fail, even if they struggle, even if they disappoint you — never withdraw your love.
They came from you. They are a part of you. Therefore, care for them, nurture them, and stand by them faithfully. Never abandon what God has entrusted into your hands.
Point 2: Never Stop Praying for Your Children
Prayer is one of the greatest signs of love a parent can demonstrate. God sees the act of praying for your children as a deep expression of care and responsibility.
There are dimensions of your child’s life that your money, education, or influence cannot reach. There are battles you cannot fight for them physically. That is where prayer becomes essential.
Bring God’s intervention into their lives continually. Otherwise, you may one day say, “I have done everything I could,” yet still feel helpless watching them struggle.
Do not put your full trust in money as though it is the ultimate solution. Many have had more resources than you and still lost their way.
Prayer is powerful, regardless of your status in life. Even better, cultivate a shared prayer life with your children. Imagine the strength of a father and son praying together, or a mother and daughter standing in unity before God. Such spiritual bonds move mountains.
The Lord honors that connection.
Point 3: Never Stop Educating Your Children — No Matter What
Education is not optional. A child without guidance and knowledge is vulnerable in this world.
When a child is born, they know nothing. They are like empty vessels — curious, searching, exploring. That curiosity is natural. They experiment because they are trying to understand life.
I call children the first “explorers of the world.”
But exploration without direction can become destruction.
This is why they need guidance. They need someone to show them, teach them, and lead them. If you do not step into that role, someone else will — and not always for good.
The first and most important education is morality.
Train your child in righteousness. Teach them to distinguish between truth and lies, good and evil, righteousness and wrongdoing. But more importantly, let them see these values lived out in you.
In this world, both good and evil exist. Every human being must choose one and reject the other. The earlier a child understands this, the safer their future becomes.
Early wisdom protects destiny.
Many children have lost their way simply because they were not given wise counsel during their formative years — when they were searching for truth and identity.
Be their guide before someone else becomes their influence.
Often, when a child fails, it reflects a gap in guidance. As parents, we are meant to be lights that illuminate the path of life — just as someone once guided us.
